Renowned Nigerian writer and multidisciplinary artist Eloghosa Osunde has been confirmed as a featured guest at CARIFESTA XV, following an official invitation extended by the Prime Minister of Barbados.

The announcement marks a significant highlight in the lead-up to the region’s premier arts and culture festival.

Osunde, celebrated for their award-winning debut novel Vagabonds! and the newly released Necessary Fiction, is expected to bring a bold and genre-defying presence to the festival’s literary and interdisciplinary programming.

Their work, which spans literature, visual art, fashion, theatre, and cultural consulting, has received international acclaim from outlets such as The Atlantic, British Vogue, People Magazine, and NPR.

The artist’s appearances at CARIFESTA XV are set to include a series of high-profile events. Osunde will headline ‘Literary Luminosity’ on Sunday, August 24 at Gun Hill Signal Station, where they will perform a sunset reading alongside a lineup of Caribbean and international writers.

They will also join the panel ‘Power, Paint, and Politics’ during The Big Conversation at the CARIFESTA XV Village on Tuesday, August 26, engaging in an interdisciplinary dialogue about the artist’s role in a fractured world.

Osunde will be the guest of honour at the ‘Literary Roots, Global Reach Gala’ on Thursday, August 28 at the Hilton Barbados, a formal evening celebrating literary voices from the Caribbean and the African diaspora.
